[Day 1] Welcome to Deep Mountain village

13:00 Meet at Kanazawa Station

 

13:40 Visit Hakusan Hime Shrine

Shiramine Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings

Winter Walking Tour

 

16:00 Check-in at Hotel NIPPONIA Hakusan Village in the Deep Mountain

 

18:00 Dinner  Mountain feast

made from ingredients grown with water from Mt. Hakusan.

Enjoy a meal in an old Japanese house while interacting with the local villagers.

[Day 2] Shiramine, at the foot of Mt. Hakusan: The Heavy Snow Village

9:00 Depart from Hotel

Traditional Snowshoes Hiking

Hiking in a heavy snow area around the old village with traditional hot tea time in an old house

11:30 lunch:

– At a centuries-old traditional farmhouse built in the Edo period

– Cook a mountain-style meal using seasonal ingredients: millet, rice, miso soup, side dishes, and more, enjoyed around a traditional irori hearth

13:00 lacquerware Workshop

Decorating to give new life to Traditional Wooden bowls with a professional Wajima Lacquerware craftsman

15:00 Depart from Shiramine

16:30 Kanazawa station West exit

-We will appropriately have some free time in the tour. Please enjoy the village and hot spring with snow views.

- The participants will be selected based on their reason for applying to this trial tour.

-We kindly ask for your cooperation in filling out surveys and helping to share information about the tour to improve our tour program.

-Accommodation, activity fees, meals, and transportation from/to Kanazawa are fully covered. However, any personal expenses not included in the tour, such as souvenirs, will be your responsibility.

Meeting point: Kanazawa Station West Exit

Accommodation: Hotel NIPPONIA Hakusan Shiramine

Languages Supported: Japanese, English

Meal Options: Vegan, Halal, allergy-friendly meals available

Transportation: Bus (wagon to medium-sized bus)

Guides: Two tour guides (certified guides of Hakusan-Tedorigawa Geopark)​​​
